Artist: Payton Crossley


Payton Crossley is an American Jazz musician.

From 1979 to 1982, he was part of Ahmad Jamal's trio (Live at Bubba's, 1980).  Since the early 1990s, he has worked in the American jazz scene with Jimmy Scott, John Basile (The Desmond Project, 1996) and Onaje Allan Gumbs, among others, as well as accompanist for singers Mercy Monet, Christy Baron and Carri Coltrane.

Since the late 1990s, he has been a regular member of Ron Carter's bands, performing on such albums as Orfeo (Blue Note, 1999), Dear Miles (2006) and Jazz & Bossa (2008). In the field of jazz, he was involved in 1980 recording sessions between 2012 and 18, most recently with Lou Caputo & Chris White, according to Tom Lord.
